FHI 360 Celebrates Its Two-Year Anniversary

By Al Siemens, CEO, FHI 360

Today marks the second anniversary of FHI 360, and I am proud of the strides that the organization has made over the past two years. Thanks to the efforts of all our dedicated FHI 360 staff, we have much to celebrate.

It is an exciting time in the life of FHI 360. We have achieved major milestones around the world. Farmers have learned to use low-cost video and radio to share critical information and improve productivity and earnings. Innovative contraceptives are being developed to fill gaps in family planning methods. The latest research in education dropout prevention is being applied to keep students in school. Our comprehensive approach to human development is helping to reduce the impact of HIV on women and children. Civil society programs are cultivating active citizens who promote good governance. Our nutrition, early childhood development, and water, sanitation and hygiene experts are exploring integrated approaches to improve outcomes for children. Our research is fueling programs that reduce the risk of disease crossing between animals and humans. The list goes on and on.

As FHI 360 enters its third year, I would like to pause to acknowledge the contributions of all our staff around the globe and to focus with renewed vigor on the work ahead. I can say without reservation that what motivates me the most each day is the opportunity to work with our world-class team in pursuit of our mission to improve lives in lasting ways. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such a talented group of people towards our shared vision – a world in which all individuals and communities have the opportunity to reach their highest potential.
